Recently it may have lost some of that popularity due to introduction of the Ps Vita but its games are still cherished in many gaming circle. Now, these games are available to play on a mulator on your Windows PC and this article will tell you exactly how to do it.

Step 1: Get the necessary files

Download the PPSSPP emulator here: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psp/ppsspp.html. It is freeware (obviously) and is thus incredibly easy to get.

While the emulator’s downloading go here; http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 and download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ red list for either x86 or x64 type processor. To check what type of processor you have go to My Computer then right click and select properties è System. It should be written there.

Also, you might want to go ahead and download some games to play. Look here: http://www.pspshare.org/ do download the games. They are usually in either .iso or.cso format since they are basically disk images.

Step 2: Setting up

By now both downloads should be done so create a folder in a drive, name it PPSSPP and extract the emulator into it using the zip file that you downloaded. Also, go ahead and use the installer that you downloaded to install MV C++ Redlist.

Next, go to your PPSSPP folder and double click the PPSSPP.exe file to open the emulator, it should look something like this;

Next, go to options on the above game settings and then control mapping, you will be directed to this screen:

Once here, setup the controls to your liking. You can choose to use the keyboard or a joystick either way you have to input the buttons you want to use in this screen.

Next, to adjust the screen size to your liking go to Game settings è Window Size or if you wann get really immersive go to Game settings è Full screen

Finally, go back to the home page and select the drive you kept your downloaded games in and navigate to the folder you put the games in. Once there simply click on the ISO/CSO to start playing.

Also, if you ever find it trouble running a game just go to settings from the home page and tweek around a little bit, you cant really do any permanent damage so check/un-check options to see if doing so makes the game “runnable” or not.
